Vacation Bible School June 22-26, 2009 9:00 - Noon
The Tabernacle church family has caught the vision to reach boys and girls for Christ through Vacation Bible School. Early each morning, over 200 volunteers arrived to welcome over 450 children to the sights and sounds of Boomerang Express. With the oldest volunteers enjoying their seventh decade of life and the youngest just entering their teen years, ministering to the children in and around Danville during VBS unites the generations around a great evangelism opportunity. Along with the wonderful volunteer base, many of which, take vacation time each year in order to serve, every staff member of the church serves in some capacity during VBS - it really is a total team effort. Never discounting the power of prayer, there are many members of the church who are unable to physically serve in VBS, but they minister in a vital way, by taking home a prayer card listing the name of a preregistered boy or girl and they commit to pray for them every day during VBS. We are thankful for all of the great volunteers and for the prayer for Boomerang Express. Sharing the Gospel with children and having them receive Christ is what makes Vacation Bible School worth the effort and this year, over 80 children trusted Christ as their Lord and Savior. VBS at The Tabernacle continues to enjoy God's blessing as an entry point for children into the family of God and for unchurched families to begin attending church. A Boomerang Express Highlight DVD is available through the church office.
